About Us

The award-winning Garfield High School Choirs demonstrate a passion for singing in every note. Garfield's Concert Choir and Vocal Jazz's rich repertoire has taken them all the way to Carnegie Hall in New York City to perform - with professional recordings for Vocal Jazz on the side. The choir experience includes traditional concerts, a staged and choreographed musical revue, trips, workshops with professional vocalists, attendance at Seattle Opera productions and competitions. Originally built in 1923, Garfield has a long tradition of serving a diverse and multi-talented population of students in the central area of Seattle.

Here are a few reasons for the success of the Garfield High School choral program:
  • The leadership, skill, and inspiration of our directors
  • Devoted students, many of whom are student leaders, athletes, and scholars
  • Musical collaborations with the fine instrumental ensembles at Garfield including jazz band, orchestra, and concert band
  • Professional facilities including the state-of-the-art 600-seat Quincy Jones Performing Arts Center, named for one of Garfield’s most illustrious graduates
  • Access to top-notch professional clinicians and artists
  • Supportive parents and friends through Friends of Garfield Singers (FrOGS)
